At Conscious Eating, we believe that you deserve to have
the life you want even during the holidays. You still have
time to create a whole new experience this year. Here are
some suggestions:
- No matter what, take time each day (10 minutes or so)
in a quiet place and focus on taking deep breaths. Ignore
all thoughts and just focus on slow deep breaths. This exercise
will help you to reconnect with that quiet, peaceful place
in your body. Having that connection every day will help
you to eat for physical hunger and to stop when you are
satisfied which then results in weight loss and weight loss
maintenance.
Ask yourself "what do I want?" Example : If
you want to enjoy your holiday gathering - does that mean
you cook an easier meal so you won't be so tired when your
guests arrive?
Acknowledge that certain things are not going to be
done and prioritize. Go for BALANCE . Be sure to include
yourself in all that you do for others.
Only eat for physical hunger, eat the best and enjoy
every bite. If you are worried about hurting someone's feelings
ask if you can take some home. If you are too full to eat
some of the foods you want, save some for later.
No Double Eating: Do not eat what you should eat and
then eat what you want to eat .
Say "NO": Do not be afraid to say "NO"
to any offer or request that doesn't feel right to you.
Take time to rest when you are tired instead of using
food for a quick source of energy.
Eat normally the day of any special event. Eating less
and saving room for later is a set-up to overeat.
Keep aware of how alcohol affects you and ask yourself
"Is this worth it?"
